The aim is to actively manage the necessary change processes, digitally optimize processes, develop new business models and services and thus generate more revenue, more customers and greater competitiveness.
In order to optimally prepare and support SMEs for this entrepreneurial challenge, RKW Hessen has extended its consulting programme for the digitalization of business processes, products and services, which has been running successfully since 2016, until the end of 2021. The topics covered by the programme range from the digitalization of business processes to online marketing and IT security.
The funding consists of:
- Subsidy for consultant fees of up to 50 percent
- Help with the search for experts

Last year, 170 Hessian companies already took advantage of this offer. The new budget is set so that as many as 290 companies per year can benefit from the state funding. "Many companies know that they need to do something to be digitally fit for the future. The funding makes it possible for small and medium-sized companies to afford good advice," said RKW Managing Director Gutzeit. Christopher Haas, Chairman of the RKW Board and Managing Director of the medium-sized company Haas & Co. Magnettechnik GmbH, praised the Hessian digitalization consultancy: "It has brought a great deal to our company and optimized our processes. I am delighted that even more companies can now be supported."
The program is funded by the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport and Housing and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
