City continues to support start-ups and young entrepreneurs
08.03.2024
The city of Offenbach am Main is continuing its commitment to start-ups and young companies. Activities to promote start-ups will be supported for a further two years.
Lord Mayor Dr. Felix SchwenkeWhen it comes to start-ups, Offenbach has always been at the forefront in Hesse and nationwide for years because we promote a good start-up climate locally.
"Last year, we were pleased to see around 183 start-ups per 10,000 inhabitants - a figure that is well above the national average of 129 start-ups per 10,000 inhabitants. Offenbach has established itself as an attractive city for start-ups in the Rhine-Main metropolitan region. Our economic policy strategy is aimed at supporting companies, promoting new settlements and creating a founder-friendly environment," says Mayor Schwenke.
And to ensure that this remains the case in the future, the KIZ SINNOVA non-profit project company, which has been working successfully with the city for over 20 years, has been commissioned to take the lead in organizing the topic for a further two years.
Offers and support for founders
Under the label "Gründerstadt Offenbach", people interested in starting a business and young founders can take advantage of various offers and receive support from the network. The network partners include the Offenbach Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the RheinMain Chamber of Crafts, the District Craftsmen's Association, the HfG Hochschule für Gestaltung, GBO Baugesellschaft Offenbach, the Employment Agency, the Business Mentors, the Junior Chamber of Commerce, YNEO and MainArbeit.
The aim of Gründerstadt Offenbach is to guide interested parties through the start-up process in an uncomplicated manner, to open doors and to provide a good home in Offenbach. For example, there is a strong GO mentoring program that provides 9 months of support. Every year, five exciting events are offered that provide an opportunity to discuss relevant topics and trends in the start-up sector and to network. And the GO Magazine, which is published every six months with new focus topics, contributes to the visibility of the offers in the city and the young companies.
