Testraum-Allee: Fashion designer Tanja Ronaghi opens her own store "Ninone by" in Offenbach city center

20.02.2026

With "Ninone by Tanja Ronaghi", fashion designer Tanja Ronaghi has opened her first own store at Hugenottenplatz, Frankfurter Straße 13-15. She took over the store space from her mother and developed a modern concept with the support of the "Testraum Fund": Ronaghi offers high-quality fashion and accessories, with the range aimed not only at women, but also to some extent at men. The range includes both own creations and items from various brands. "I am delighted that Tanja Ronaghi is continuing her mother's store with her own concept and thus saving our city from a possible vacancy. Thanks to the support of the 'Test Space Fund', but also the involvement of the landlord, who has shown commitment and interest, we as a city are able to secure such shopping opportunities," explains Božica Niermann, Head of the Office for Economic Development and Real Estate.

Tanja Ronaghi is receiving support for a successful start from the "Test Space Fund", part of the future project "Test Space Avenue" for the establishment of new stores in Offenbach's city center.

"Ninone by Tanja Ronaghi" offers a mix of self-created, hand-tailored fashion and high-quality brands. Tanja Ronaghi describes her style as follows: "My fashion is not based on trends; all cuts are timeless. Both the choice of fabrics and the cuts are so precise that each of my garments hugs the body and not the other way around." She offers her collection in several sizes in the new store; previously, her pieces were only available in one size.

The range is rounded off with clothing and accessories from local and national brands. "I want to attract a cross-generational clientele," explains Tanja Ronaghi. "That's why I stock fashion for men and women of different ages and have taken over some brands from my mother's store. Many items such as socks and jewelry also make great gifts." Ronaghi can also imagine adding more brands to her range, especially those that focus on sustainability.

Ronaghi's mother Susan Ghods ran the women's boutique "Ninone" on Hugenottenplatz for 33 years. As Ronaghi still has a job as a teacher, her mother will also be advising customers in the store. "Ninone by Tanja Ronaghi" is open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm.

The landlord of the space, Rudolf Walther from Grundstücksgemeinschaft Walter-Passage GbR, is also impressed by the new store concept. "We are delighted that a seamless takeover is taking place here. A modern environment is also part of a new start. That's why we had the space completely modernized. The Testraum-Allee concept is very coherent for us as property owners: In our case, it promoted the continuation of a tenancy, and it also opens up attractive opportunities for owners to reoccupy retail space."

Test room avenue as a basis

In March last year, Tanja Ronaghi was the first tenant of the Testraum, a central component of the Testraum-Allee project, with which the city aims to make the retail offer and the quality of stay in the city more attractive. Four months ago, it successfully applied for funding from the Test Space Fund, making it the first recipient of this fund. "The cooperation with the city was excellent in all respects," sums up Ronaghi. "The benefits from the Test Space Fund helped me enormously to take the plunge and open my own store. It's not just the money you receive as start-up financing. The professional support from the Testraum-Allee team of experts, who advised me on the conversion, furnishings and communication, among other things, was and is also very valuable."

In addition to a monthly rent subsidy of up to 500 euros for one year, Testraum Fund recipients also receive a one-off grant of 5,000 euros to renovate and furnish their store. They are also supported by experts, from architects for the design of the store to communication specialists for effective advertising and mentors from the Offenbach Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

About the test room avenue

Testraum-Allee is a project of the city center future concept in cooperation with Agentur Mitte and Offenbach offensiv and aims to sustainably upgrade and expand the retail sector. The project focuses on the conversion of vacancies with the aim of attracting high-quality retail, gastronomy and service businesses to Offenbach's city center that are economically viable in the long term. The future project Testraum-Allee aims to establish new, high-quality and economically viable store concepts in vacant or threatened (ground floor) store spaces in the city center. The aim is to increase the attractiveness of Offenbach's city center and provide impetus for a vibrant and lively city center from which businesses, owners and citizens alike can benefit. Four projects have been implemented and supported to date: the temporary OFTEN department store, the "Doki Doki" concept store, the mini-market in the M. Schneider and the test room.

More information on the future concept for the city center

German city centers are undergoing radical change as a result of the shrinking retail sector. Against this backdrop, the city of Offenbach developed a future concept for the city center back in 2020 together with the people of Offenbach, the Offenbach offensiv association, which is close to the Offenbach Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the planners from urbanista - a concept that now comprises 16 projects. The 16 projects of the future concept for the city center are therefore deliberately different offers in order to maintain the heart of the city as an inviting and lively place. More than half of the projects are already being implemented. The city of Offenbach is working hard to shape change - together with numerous inner-city and external stakeholders. Together, they want to make the city center lovable.
