Agency center

Agentur Mitte is driving Offenbach's city center forward. The City of Offenbach has tasked it with coordinating the implementation of the future concept for the city center, which will transform Offenbach's city center into a lively and attractive district for everyone. As part of Offenbach's economic development agency, Agentur Mitte has the right levers at its disposal to bring interest groups together, promote entrepreneurs and enable urban society to play an active role in shaping the city. To this end, it relies on transparent communication, stakeholder networking and, within municipal institutions, the supra-regional exchange of ideas and cooperation at all levels. With an overall strategic view, Agentur Mitte steers development and provides pioneering impetus for sustainable inner city development. It is also the project sponsor of four future projects, two of which are already being implemented: the Testraum-Allee and the Rathaus-Pavillon.

OSG - Offenbacher Stadtmarketinggesellschaft mbH

Offenbacher-Stadtmarketinggesellschaft mbH, an associated company of the City of Offenbach am Main and Stadtwerke Offenbach Holding, is responsible for key marketing tasks on behalf of the city.

It operates the joint internet portal of the city, SOH and EVO, organizes the Mainuferfest and the Festival of Lights, and organizes visitor management in the Offenbach Weather Park. With the OF-InfoCenter, OSG also maintains the central advance booking office in Offenbach for tickets to local, regional and national events.

Regina Preis (Head of Corporate Communications at Stadtwerke Offenbach) and Fabian El Cheikh (Head of Public Relations) are the joint part-time managers. This partnership strengthens OSG's claim to act as a hinge company between the city and SOH, bundling key tasks and jointly managing city marketing projects for the city group.

Offenbach Chamber of Industry and Commerce

Together with the City of Offenbach and the Offenbach offensiv association, the IHK was not only significantly involved in the development of the Masterplan 2030 and the future concept for the city center, it is also responsible for the implementation of two future projects: the Kosmopolis department store and the Made.of Designhaus. The Kosmopolis department store celebrated its first successful temporary test run in Offenbach with UND international in early summer 2023. The Made.of Designhaus is a concept idea for a design and exhibition center with open workshops and for temporary living, with space for workshops and events, in which the creative energy of Offenbach can be felt by visitors.

Offenbach offensiv e. V.

Offenbach offensiv e. V. is an association that was founded as a result of the work on the Masterplan 2030. It was an equal partner of the City of Offenbach in the development of the Masterplan 2030 and the future concept for the city center. Offenbach offensiv is committed to strengthening Offenbach as a business location by working to position the city as an attractive location for companies and investors. Its aim is to strengthen coexistence in Offenbach and create a vibrant and diverse community for all people. To this end, it works closely with the city of Offenbach, companies, other organizations, social institutions and artists to make a difference together. Offenbach offensiv is responsible for the implementation of the future project Testraum-Allee.

How we work together

In order to keep the paths and coordination processes short and transparent, the institutions and stakeholders involved in the development of Offenbach's city center work together across the board. The formats include decision-making and supervisory bodies, working committees and a task force.

Master Plan Advisory Board

In 2016, the city councillors adopted the Master Plan 2030, for the development of which the City of Offenbach collaborated on an equal footing with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Offenbach offensiv e. V. association. The city center future concept is an important part of this and forms the basis for the development of the city of Offenbach up to the year 2030.

The Masterplan Advisory Board is the highest supervisory body for the implementation of the Masterplan 2030 and the City Center Future Concept. The City of Offenbach - represented by the city's politicians and department heads - also works with Offenbach offensiv e. V. and civil society stakeholders on the advisory board. This is a unique concept and an important reason why we have already been able to successfully launch many projects.

Inner city economic development round

The City Center Economic Development Round Table (WER) was created along the lines of its big sister, the Offenbach Economic Development Round Table. As an overarching decision-making body, it is the instrument for strategic coordination on the development of Offenbach's city center. All important decisions on the future concept for the city center are discussed and made here. Its advantage is the short, unbureaucratic paths and the cooperation between the various offices, staff units, subsidiaries and non-municipal stakeholders. It is chaired by Lord Mayor Dr. Schwenke. The steering group reports to the WER Innenstadt.

Steering group for the future concept of the city center

All project sponsors whose future projects are already being planned or implemented come together in the steering group to exchange ideas and develop synergies. The steering group informs the other committees about the current status on a quarterly basis. The working group focuses on transparent cooperation across institutions.

Future Club City Center

The City Center Future Club emerged from the development of the City Center Future Concept. Its members contributed to the concept and are a community of influential Offenbach personalities and civil society players who think about inner city development from a wide variety of perspectives and viewpoints. The Zukunftsclub Innenstadt thus contributes valuable content to the discourse on inner city development: for example, regularly as part of Offen denken.

City center task force

Here, everything revolves around the seemingly small things that rightly annoy many people: damaged litter garbage cans, worn-out benches, run-down letterboxes or illegal graffiti. The City Center Taskforce was created to improve cleanliness, order and urban design in Offenbach's city center. The City Center Taskforce is headed by City Management, the city's point of contact for all businesses, interest groups and property owners in the city center. The city management mediates between commercial interests and the city administration.

City marketing round

The city marketing committee meets four times a year. This is when all those involved in city marketing come together to plan and coordinate the city's marketing measures. Another focus is the coordination of municipal and cultural events and festivals.
