City of Offenbach

Digitization department

Beschreibung

Stand: 26

The Digitalization Stabsstelle has been in place since March 2021 to drive forward the digitalization of the city administration and the city of Offenbach. It is part of the Main Office and reports directly to the Lord Mayor.

The Stabsstelle, which is headed by Anne Schwarz and Marius Müller in tandem, coordinates all existing and newly planned digitalization processes in the administration and at Stadtwerke Offenbach. Its core tasks are to digitalize the city administration and pave the way for Offenbach to become a smart city. The Stabsstelle heads the Digitalization Working Group, in which managers and specialists from various municipal offices and from the municipal utilities work together on concepts. The resulting projects are to be implemented with funding from the state and federal government, for which the Digitalization Stabsstelle is applying. A prerequisite for many aspects of the digital city is the topic of gigabit and fiber optic expansion, which is being managed by the Stabsstelle together with the Economic Development Department and the Building Department.
