Information on

BUND (Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz in Deutschland) is one of the largest environmental associations in Germany and campaigns for an intact natural environment, healthy food, a clean environment, renewable energies, environmentally friendly mobility and much more. BUND is organized into regional associations. The members are looked after by the local or district associations or by a local representative. At state and national level, there is the Wildcat Leap project, which aims to better connect the scattered habitats of wildcats. BUND is also campaigning against CETA and TTIP and similar agreements, as there are fears that these agreements could lower or even eliminate nature and environmental protection standards. The Offenbach chapter has around 300 members. The local association works on the nature conservation advisory board and the nature conservation commission of the city of Offenbach. It also looks after meadows and former farmland. Every year, a cycle tour is offered on the Offenbach section of the apple wine route and this year a hike through Offenbach's forests and meadows with varied surroundings. Environmental education is also part of the activities. Guided tours and excursions as well as information on the environment are therefore offered.
