Music in the park
Beschreibung
It all started with the "Stroll and Picnic Concerts" in 2006 on the occasion of the Mozart anniversary (250th anniversary of the death of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart): The initiator Dirk Eisermann had presented his concept for a music festival in the palace park to Lydia Gesenhus, then head of the cultural department. The very next year, the first stroll and picnic concerts were to be organized to mark the 250th anniversary of the death of the composer W.A. Mozart.
The success of this first event prompted the initiative to found an association and to play in other Offenbach parks. The purpose is, on the one hand, to use and revitalize the existing green spaces culturally and, on the other hand, to present classical music to as many people as possible without the need for checkrooms and high ticket prices.
This is how the "Offenbach Sunday Concerts" came into being: In the style of the spa and Sunday concerts of earlier times, we have been holding this concert series in the summer months from May to August since 2009. The specially founded salon orchestra plays classical music, waltzes and nostalgic light music for two hours at the Sunday concerts in the concert pavilion in Dreieichpark (Frankfurter Straße/Parkstraße) - and admission is free!
