Children's choir in the Lutherkirche

Children between the ages of 5 and 14 sing in the children's choir of the Luther Church of the Evangelical Mirjam Parish. Rehearsals take place once a week on Friday afternoons. The aim is to teach the children to sing and make music in an age-appropriate way and to awaken their love of choral singing.

Description

It is open to all interested girls and boys from the age of 5, regardless of denomination, religion or origin. New singers are very welcome.
The children are taught how to use their voices in a healthy way with lots of fun and games. The voice is one of the most beautiful instruments we have. It is easy to transport and costs nothing (think of a double bass, which is not only expensive but also quite bulky). However, like any muscle, the voice needs to be trained and cared for so that it doesn't "give up the ghost" in 90 years' time. And this is best done in a choir and should be started as early as possible. This is also the basic idea of the children's choir: to train the voice, to try out what my voice can do, to learn to express and pass on emotions through my voice.

The children's choir work is financed by donations.
