Can stones float? Sure, you just have to attach them to a thread hanging from the ceiling. However, when selected pieces of stone are arranged or supplemented with other material, when a slender branch bleached by wind and weather grows out of the smooth, egg-shaped, fist-sized pebble, then the holding thread disappears from view. And so extraterrestrial flying objects emerge from found objects, floating beings that have something magical about them. The circulating air in the room keeps the objects in motion, and every turn reveals new secrets in the works of Offenbach jewelry artist Wolfgang Uhl.
He presents objects and jewelry in his workshop and gallery "SCHMUCKatelier WOLFGANG UHL" in the former horse stables, the historic stables building of Rumpenheim Castle. Wolfgang Uhl has been working as a freelance artist in Offenbach since 1980.
