Dire Desire

Vampiric artifacts, wolfish sculptures, the resurrected dead and murderous constructs: Atelier Am Arbeitsamt is showing the collective project "Dire Desire" at this year's Kunstansichten. The artists experiment with elements of the horror genre in an installation that blurs the boundaries between art exhibition and ghost train. The horror spread by the monsters appears here as a reflection of the dark part of modernity: what constructions of subjectivity, rationality and colonialism have made it necessary to banish the supposedly inappropriate parts of people into horror figures? What potential lies dormant in the pop-cultural fascination with these figures? We look forward to taking you on a journey into our dark visions and bloody desires!
