DAVID SARNO
Beschreibung
A dead person is often powerfully filled with longing for their loved ones
loved ones whom he had to painfully leave behind. His longing
is so powerful that he leaves his grave at night
and comes to them. The returning man is filled with an irrepressible
longing for warmth. Then he craves the
fresh blood of the living and, like a lover, for an eternal
eternal embrace.
The 3-channel video installation is based on the short novella
"Manor" by Karl Heinrich Ulrichs from the year 1914.
In it, Ulrichs describes the story of two lovers,
whose strong affection for each other can even overcome
can even overcome death.
The triptych, which consists of three monitors, explores in
fast cuts, constantly circling around itself, the themes of death
themes of death, desire and longing. A hypnotic
maelstrom of seemingly conflicting images and motifs. The face
face of a dead man, the intimate embrace of two lovers and
lovers and a heart writhing in agony raise questions
about the fragile nature of love and the boundaries that we are
we are prepared to cross for it.
