Karminsky Art Collection
Born and raised in Russia, Michael Karminsky has lived in Offenbach since the early 1990s. His apartment in the building of a former leather factory is located in the backyard of Domstraße and is also his art collection.
Description
Around 500 paintings and sculptures by over 40 artists who opposed the regime during the Soviet Union hang there. They further develop the avant-garde of the turn of the century and play with the socialist pathos of realism. Among them are Oskar Rabin, Eduard Gorokhovsky and others who today enjoy an outstanding international reputation. The works of some of these artists are now sought-after pieces. Renowned museums like to borrow them from him, such as the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, the gallery in Berlin's Martin-Gropius-Bau or prestigious Moscow museums. Karminsky is happy to show them in Domstrasse at any time by appointment.
