Beschreibung
In Offenbach, too, medium-sized and smaller industrial companies were usually housed in backyards in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The largely unadorned commercial buildings with their often unrendered exposed brickwork with simple stone or later concrete structures have only experienced a renaissance in recent years after many years of vacancy. The buildings in the courtyard at Ludwigstraße 8 were once the production site for fine leather goods made by Lehmann und Co, and later by Hopfenblatt, Haug and others. Today it houses offices and studios for creative businesses. The architecture is a good example of a successful synthesis of the industrial aesthetics of the late 19th century and the light-flooded glass constructions of the 21st century.
