Description
How can Offenbach am Main become even more attractive, economically stronger and more liveable? Where should people live and work in the future? The Offenbach Masterplan , developed in 2015, is a strategic urban planning tool that provides guidelines and paints a picture of the Offenbach of tomorrow.
The clear profiling and the creation of a business-friendly atmosphere will create strong future prospects for the city. Ten key projects have been identified and are now gradually being implemented. A master plan advisory board, in which representatives of the city and the association are active, accompanies the implementation.
The future concept, which is currently being developed, is based on the theory that a city center will no longer function solely on the basis of retail in the future. The aim is therefore to work out which additional functions can characterize the city center in order to increase visitor frequency, quality of stay and length of stay. The aim is to maintain a lively Offenbach city center, an experience and meeting point in the middle of the city. People should be able to stroll around here, drink coffee, meet friends and experience art and culture.
The Urbanista office is supporting us in developing the concept. We started in October 2018. We will ask ourselves: What are the future trends and what do they mean for Offenbach's city center? What mix of uses do we need? What can we do specifically, what measures do we want to implement?
