Romanian Orthodox Parish of St. Nicholas e.V.

The Romanian Orthodox parish of St. Nicholas is located at Backstraße 16. In addition to the church's regular religious events, the parishioners have been involved in integration work for many years.

Description

The services of the parish of St. Nicholas are held in both Romanian and German and can be followed via live stream on the internet.

The Romanian Orthodox community also offers a varied program. For example, working groups meet at the weekend under the motto "Integration with roots". The idea behind this is that although the center of life for many immigrants shifts to their new place of residence over time, it is important not to forget their "roots". The teaching of the Romanian language, culture, history or geography is also at the forefront of other projects.

The community also organizes camps for young and old. In addition to the fun of doing things together, educational aspects are also addressed during these trips and topics such as the use of smartphones today are discussed critically.

Founded in 1976, the Romanian Orthodox community in Offenbach has been recognized as a public corporation by the state of Hesse since 2012.
