Data protection and anti-corruption unit

The staff unit consists of the Data Protection Officer in accordance with Section 5 (1) of the Hessian Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act (HDSIG) and the Anti-Corruption Officer. Both tasks are currently performed by the same person. The municipal enterprises MainArbeit and EKO as well as the municipal holding companies (Stadtwerke Offenbach Holding, Seniorenzentrum Offenbach gGmbH and Zweckverband Wasserversorgung Offenbach) have each appointed data protection officers themselves.

In accordance with Section 7 HDSIG in conjunction with Article 39 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data protection officer is assigned the following tasks

• Advising and supporting the organizational units and employees of the City of Offenbach in all matters relevant to data protection
• Monitoring compliance with data protection regulations in the organizational units of the core administration
• Raising awareness and training in data protection issues
• Advice on and participation in data protection impact assessments
• Cooperation with the Hessian Data Protection Officer

The Anti-Corruption Officer is also available as a contact person for all questions relating to the prevention of corruption and is obliged to maintain confidentiality unless confidentiality stands in the way of uncovering a criminal offense.
