Early dental check-up - examination of the oral cavity/assessment of dental status - in kindergartens/crawling groups

§ Section 21 of the German Social Security Code V regulates the statutory entitlement for children aged 0 - 12 through the following group prophylaxis measures:

• Examination of the oral cavity of the children in their group by dentists from the public health service
• Visit by specialist advisors for dental group prophylaxis from the Youth Dental Care Working Group
  

The youth dental care working group for the city and district of Offenbach works together with the Offenbach am Main municipal health department and supports dental health through regular visits to daycare centers as part of dental group prophylaxis. The dental check-up is carried out by the Offenbach am Main municipal health department.

The advantages of a check-up in the daycare center for you:
You have the opportunity for your child to practice dental contact in a familiar environment and in the safety of their group. Demonstrating and imitating is fun for everyone.

Who examines the children?
A youth dentist from the public health service of the Offenbach am Main municipal health department carries out the examination. She has many years of experience, especially with children. The results of the examination are of course subject to medical confidentiality and only you will be informed of the findings in writing and confidentially.

The appointment will be announced in good time on a notice board.

My child does not want to be examined, what now?
If your child does not want to take part, they can simply watch. No child will be forced! You are also welcome to be present during the examination.

The examination is free of charge.

The children are regularly supervised on site at the community facility. Usually in a class/group, sometimes in small groups.
