Family research

An identity card or passport must be presented when appearing in person.

A user application form must be completed once a year.

Family research in the archive in the Haus der Stadtgeschichte is subject to a fee. The amount of the fee depends on the time required for the research (see fee schedule). Smaller searches generally cost 30 to 60 euros, larger searches 90 to 120 euros. In individual cases, this sum may be exceeded.

Requests are usually processed within 14 days.

Church records: Originals are not available in our house, but we do have the church records from Bieber, Bürgel, Rumpenheim and the French Reformed parish on microfilm. These can be viewed at our reader during the usual opening hours (Tue + Thu, 9-12 and 13.30-15.30).
