Practice of medicine, license (Heilpraktikererlaubnis)

A non-medical practitioner is a person who practices medicine professionally without being licensed as a doctor. The practice of medicine is any professional or commercial activity to diagnose, cure or alleviate illness, suffering or physical injury in humans, even if it is carried out in the service of others. In addition, the activity must require specialist medical knowledge and must not cause any damage to health.

If you wish to work as a non-medical practitioner for the practice of medicine, you require a license.

The fee for the permit is € 250.00.

If the inspection is not passed, a rejection notice will be issued. In accordance with the Hessian Administrative Costs Act, 75% of the permit fee will be charged.

If an application is withdrawn after processing, 50% of the permit fee must be paid in accordance with the Hessian Administrative Costs Act.

Fees for the granting of a license to practice medicine as a non-medical practitioner are calculated in accordance with No. 6411 of the schedule of fees in the Annex to Section 1 of the Administrative Cost Regulations for the Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration (VwKostO-HMSI).

The processing time depends on the respective health authority.
