Security companies and security personnel according to § 28 WaffG

A need to acquire, possess and carry firearms is recognized in the case of a security company (Section 34a of the Trade Regulation Act) if it can credibly demonstrate that security assignments are or are to be carried out that require firearms for reasons of securing a person at risk within the meaning of Section 19 or a property at risk.

Security guards who, on the basis of an employment relationship, are to possess or carry firearms of the permit holder in accordance with his instructions, shall be named to the competent authority for examination; the employer shall inform the security guard concerned of the appointment in an appropriate manner in advance, referring to the necessity of processing personal data at the authority. The transfer of firearms or ammunition may only take place once the competent authority has given its consent.
