Vehicle: Holder request

If you want to assert, secure or enforce or satisfy or defend legal claims in connection with participation in road traffic (e.g. claims for damages against the other party involved in the accident and their motor vehicle liability insurance) or to bring a private action for road traffic offenses, but only know the registration number of the vehicle involved in the accident, it is possible to determine the owner and thus their insurance by means of an owner inquiry (so-called simple register information).

The information must be requested in writing, stating the vehicle data or the personal details of the owner. It must be stated that the information is required to assert, secure or enforce or to satisfy or defend against legal claims in connection with participation in road traffic (e.g. claims for damages against the other party involved in the accident and their motor vehicle liability insurance) or to bring a private prosecution for road traffic offenses.

The information fee is 5.10 euros and can be claimed from the opposing party's liability insurance as an accident damage item.

The amount is also due in the event of a rejection or negative information.

The amount must be credited to our account before we receive your request, otherwise we will have to return the request unprocessed. Please enter the following as the reason for payment : 12162004, the license plate number of the vehicle you are looking for and the date of your request (e.g. owner request from 01.01.15 - license plate number). If there are several requests, please state the first license plate number and the number of requests. A copy of the transfer receipt must be attached to the request (also applies to online banking).
