Day carer - Permit for child day care

Overview

Would you like to work as a childminder? You need a permit to work as a childminder if all of the following criteria apply:

You look after children

  • outside the parental home
  • for part of the day,
  • more than 15 hours a week,
  • for a fee and
  • for longer than 3 months.

NOTE:

Day care mainly looks after children under the age of 3, but (supplementary) day care for children of kindergarten or school age is also possible.

Child day care is usually a public youth welfare service. This means that the youth welfare office of your district or town is responsible for the care of children in day care and for the childminders.
