Small sewage treatment plants

If your property is not connected to the wastewater disposal facilities of your municipality, your wastewater can be treated in a small wastewater treatment plant if the legal requirements are met.

As a rule, the municipality is responsible for wastewater disposal. Information on whether, for example, the connection of your property to the public wastewater disposal system is planned or whether wastewater disposal via a small sewage treatment plant is possible can be obtained from your local authority. Information on the requirements to be met by a small sewage treatment plant can be obtained from the lower water authority.

The municipality disposes of the sludge produced in the small wastewater treatment plant.
