Food and feed monitoring - Communicate self-monitoring results on dioxins and PCBs

Overview

Food and feed companies are obliged to report the results of their own tests for dioxins and PCBs. This is intended to identify potential problems at an earlier stage.

Note:The reporting obligations are regulated in the following laws and ordinances:

  • German Food, Commodities and Feed Code (LFGB)
  • Ordinance on Notification and Transmission Obligations for Substances Undesirable for Health (MitÜbermitV)

Tip:The European Commission provides an overview of the primary obligations of companies. You can find out more about dioxins and other persistent organic compounds on the portal of the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety. It compiles quarterly reports on investigation activities based on company notifications and publishes them on its portal.
