Nursing medal of the state of Hesse

Since 2004, the state of Hesse has awarded the Hessian Care Medal to people in Hesse for special services who have cared for and looked after a sick or disabled person in need of care, who is close to them, free of charge in their own home for a continuous period of at least 5 years.

The churches and religious communities, the associations of independent welfare care, the private commercial associations of elderly and disabled care, the state senior citizens' representation of Hesse, the representative of the Hessian state government for disabled people, self-help groups, the municipalities and districts as well as any natural person are entitled to nominate.
