Special use permit on public roads and squares

If a citizen wishes to use public roads in a way other than intended by the road authorities or in deviation from road traffic regulations, this constitutes special use, which is subject to a permit and fee.

Special uses of a commercial nature are e.g:

• Sales trolleys/sales stands
• Display stands in front of your own stores
• information stands
• Advertising stands/boards
• Street café (setting up tables/chairs)
• Bicycle stands
• Posters

Content of the permit
The special use permit is generally granted for a limited period or until revoked, subject to change. This permit is subject to conditions that must be complied with.

As part of control activities, unauthorized special uses or non-compliance with the conditions of the special use permit are recorded and appropriate regulatory measures are initiated (e.g. warnings, fines and penalty payments, substitute performance).

A special use permit is subject to a fee. The fee is based on the special use fee schedule of the respective municipality or state.

Permit applications must be submitted in writing in good time before the intended special use begins.
