Weapons possession card for marksmen (yellow WBK)

The yellow gun ownership card allows sport shooters to purchase certain firearms and the corresponding ammunition.

You can purchase the following firearms with a firearms possession card for marksmen:

• Single-shot long guns with smooth and (or) rifled barrels
• Repeating long guns with rifled barrels
• Single-shot single-barrel short-barreled rifles for cartridge ammunition
• Multi-shot short and long weapons with primer ignition (percussion weapons)

The number of weapons to be purchased is limited to a total of 10. As a rule, you may not acquire more than 2 weapons within 6 months.

The weapons authority in Offenbach is the public order office.

If you acquire a new weapon, sell a weapon or notice the loss of a weapon registered in your name, you are obliged to notify the weapons authority immediately. This obligation to notify also applies to the rendering unusable or destruction of firearms. You can find the relevant forms in the "Links and downloads" section of this website.

• Application for the issue of a gun ownership card for sport shooters
• Certificate of need from your shooting sports association or one of its affiliated sub-associations
• Proof of expertise
• Proof of safe storage
• Identification document

Additional documents may also be required:

• Positive specialist medical or specialist psychological certificate of mental aptitude for persons aged between 21 and 25 years

EUR 87 plus at least EUR 22 surcharge or according to time spent if a reliability and suitability check is to be carried out
