Stadt Offenbach

Revitalisation of a key location

The former Clariant site in the east of Offenbach will be developed with a long-term perspective. The intention is to create a future-oriented commercial location that will optimally complement the range of offers in the Rhine-Main metropolitan region.

Enhancement of Offenbach's business location

The conversion and revitalisation of the area of the former chemical plant is one of the central projects for the upgrading of Offenbach as a business location. The 36-hectare site is the largest coherent inner-city development area in the Rhine-Main metropolitan region and can unfold supraregional impact and recognition.

The Innovation Campus, which the master plan sees as an interface between education and economy, innovative founders and future-oriented users, is to be developed in close cooperation with the city's economic development department. They have already developed initial ideas for a "design park" together with the University of Design, the Offenbach Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Hessen Trade & Invest regional association. Similar to the harbour, the realisation of the entire future project will take at least a decade to be completed.

Location & accesibility

The Innovation Campus is centrally located in the Rhine-Main metropolitan region and is excellently connected to public transport in the region: The bus and S-Bahn station Offenbach Ost can be reached by foot in four minutes; four S-Bahn lines and five bus lines serve this station.

The area can also be easily reached by bicycle via the superordinate cycle path system: In the north and east, the Regional Park route runs along the River Main and the adjacent Kuhmühlgraben nature reserve, and in the south and east there are cycle paths along the roads.
